Podcast Show Notes

Our podcast discussion today between Michael Andrade  and Andy Dunham, Attorney.

Andy and I have been friends for a little over 3 years.  He and I work in the same community and have served together.  He and I both were trying to come up with something to serve the community and add value to employers and individuals.  Right now we’re all reminded that life is precious and also that death happens when we least expect it.  Research shows that only 40% of Americans have a plan to help their families in the event of untimely death.  Only 20% of millennials have a plan and yet it’s really one of the biggest gifts you could give to your loved ones.

Andy and I both agreed that right now is a great reminder for why you need a will and a plan.  During our discussion we review what you can do if you don’t have a will.  Specifically if you get sick or just want to put something together that’s defensible until you work with an attorney.  It’s also a great time to put one together because many folks have some extra time to get to those things that are important but not urgent.

During our discussion we cover the following topics:

  • What is a will?
  • What is an executor?
  • What can you do in the event you don’t have one and you need?
  • What is an Advance Directive and does COVID affect the rules of a Directive?
  • Why you want to have a will and advance directive?
